How You Can Help
There is much to do! We have developed the outline of criteria in which to evaluate the rescues in terms of their quality. Unfortunately, many rescues are resistant to being evaluated. We at Verified Rescues wish to remind everyone involved in pet rescue that the number one goal in our mission is always the safety and happiness of each animal.
It is imperative to expose both the positives and negatives for rescues. Any reputable rescue should be proud to have their positive attributes shown, while finding it their duty to reverse any negative conditions for the greater good of each animal in their care. After all, isn't the greater good of the animals why each of us is involved in rescue?
The first step is to develop a rating criteria. This outline will need widespread distribution along with feedback from as many groups as possible. This includes rescues, fosters, forever families, volunteers and shelters - anyone and everyone who is touched by the operation of a rescue facility or home.
We need volunteers who can write sections of the outline and add meat to the bones. We need email lists of volunteers, fosters, rescues and shelters to send them the outline to get their feedback.
