About Verified Rescues

The magic of Verified Rescue is to find a reasonable balance of rules and flexibility to get the maximum number of animals out of high kill shelters and into happy homes - whether rescue, foster or forever. 

We will have rules and guidelines for rescues to follow, with the understanding that each item added to the list is there to benefit the animals. Rescues that agree to follow these guidelines will benefit by strengthening their establishment for the greater good of the animals they are saving. It is also a clear cut way to educate the volunteers at each rescue or shelter. It's a win/win situation.

Our main purpose is to create a happy and safe experience for the animal - from pull to foster to adoption and post-adoption followup. While not every rescue may agree with everything that Verified Rescue includes and proposes, we are confident that everyone will agree that the happiness and safety of each animal should always be the number one goal.
